So we’re about half way through my “half training” – I say half training because it’s been lackluster at best and while I was hoping to PR this race, life has not been on my side lately. I haven’t run longer than 4 miles, I haven’t completed a whole training week. I was 8 weeks out and feeling good, like I could get my training in, but daylight savings ruined my will to get up early, and then the stomach flu hit our house. It wasn’t pretty. As it is, hubs is getting ready to leave Thursday for a 4 day drill. God bless my mom visiting because I MIGHT MIGHT be able to fit in my long run this weekend. Maybe.
Consider this my reboot. I have five weeks until Ragnar Cape Cod and roughly 6 weeks until St. Michaels Half. I’m not going for the PR at this point….I’m going to finish. That being said, if I can still throw in a speed workout like tonight (hi Fartleks!) and fit in the rest of my long runs, I’m fairly confident I can actually run decent races.
Run 3 (actual: 3.5)
Tuesday – Spinning or Run 3 (if its not raining I’ll be taking E for a run with some fellow working moms. If it is raining I’ll ride on the trainer after he goes to bed)
Wednesday – Run 3
Thursday – 21dfx (because when in doubt, always fit in a strength workout)
Friday – 21dfx
Saturday – run 7-8 miles (IF my mom will watch E for me for an hour+ while I run)
Sunday – rest
