Yesterday was a perfect day. Near 70 degrees. Mostly sunny. A bit of a breeze coming off the bay. I had had a Junior League breakfast but then went on home to get ready for a run.
It was there that I realized I haven’t updated my running playlist since before the Annapolis Half. Unfortunate.
I finished just under 5 miles in about an hour – but I got a little camera happy which slowed me down when I was running through the Naval Academy (for the first time EVER).
It was a bit windier along the water than it had been which kind of slowed me down but I alternated running at a 9:30/mi pace and walking for a couple minutes when I felt like it. This was one of my longer runs since the half, but it felt really good to get out.
Did I mention it was shorts weather?! AMAZING. Later, when I was running errands I busted out flip flops and realized I made a huge mistake when I discovered my feet look disgusting and need a pedicure desperately. Whoops.
After my run I enjoyed an amazing Avocado Delight from my favorite deli/bagel joint that I had picked up before my run since I knew I wouldn’t be done before they closed.
Noms. Six grain bagel, honey mustard, avocado, turkey, lettuce, tomato. Should have added sprouts. Hi lunches for the week – thanks for the inspiration, I’ll be replicating this in a pita!
After devouring that sandwich, I napped on the couch while pseudo watching the new season of the Jersey shore.
Later, my friend Anne called and asked if I wanted to pop over to a basketball game with her that she was going to for work. Apparently, Annapolis has a semi-pro basketball team – it was at a high school up in Severn, but I didn’t get that it was semi-pro til later. I thought they were just really tall for high schoolers and that the cheerleaders were a little scantily clad for a Christian highschool. Apparently…they weren’t high schoolers after all! Whoops.
We went back to her place after to get her new blog set up – it’s not much yet but it will be awesome. I got home late and crashed. This morning, I did not go running (yet!) but I will later. I did however finish Two Kisses for Maddy – holy crap bring the tissues. An amazing read but was not something I recommend reading during your commute. And if you don’t read Matt’s blog? Go. Read it and be amazed.
I was worried at first about sitting home. By myself without any human interaction all weekend. Many thanks to Anne for saving me from that and getting me out of the house. Now to get the errands I didn’t do yesterday…done.
