After a mishap with Stella, I’ve been out of commission for about a week.
It was devastating to say the least. Hubs and I have been sharing a laptop for the past week but since I hardly have time for blogging as it is, getting him to give up his macbook pro so I could catch up on google reader taking away from his time to apply to grad school, apply for jobs and study for this exam he has to take was next to impossible.
So instead of multiple long diatribes about nothing in particular, here’s what you missed….
*We moved our furniture out of our apartment – our lease ends the 27th so everything (well almost everything) is in storage at this point. We have no chairs, no furniture, though hubs did manage to find a corkscrew earlier…thank goodness.
*hubs applied for a nice consulting gig that sounds promising….however…
*…said gig would move us back to the greater DC area. And by greater DC area I mean likely Annapolis.
*I’ve already applied for a job there. It’s promising, but not definite. Keep fingers crossed.
*Even if he doesn’t get that consulting gig, there are so many jobs that he could get but hasn’t been applying to…jobs are more likely down there in his field, and thus, we’re still planning on being down there (though not yet settled) before Thanksgiving.
*This means I’ll likely miss NU Homecoming 2010. My 5 year reunion homecoming!! Damn you calendar!
*Because I dropped my laptop (not intentionally! I was sober! Not like last time!) Stella got a new LCD screen, a new casing, and a new optical drive. She’s like brand spankin’ new. Maybe now cd’s won’t get stuck in the CD Rom drive anymore! Win!!! (the optical drive was a separate issue though, not related to the screen)
*Family has been nagging us to get rid of pupski. Who could get rid of our girl??? (actually, no would take our crazy hound off our hands! Not that we want anyone to, it’s just a fact that no one would. She cray-cray!!!)
*So much to blog about. So little time.
I finished crossfit. Shaving a minute off my time from our first workout which was 250m row and then 15/12/9 of situps, pushups, and squats. I did 5 perfect pushups rather than the prescribed workout but still – bad. ass. I finished the first time in 6:49, this time I finished in 5:53. Rock on!!!
Also, fell off the wagon as far as my eating goes. We packed all of our dishes/pots and pans so cooking is non-existent minus what we can heat up. Tonight I had some chili the in-laws cooked for us and some microwavable white rice (gross) with a small plate of homemade nachos (whole grain chips, cheese and salsa) while watching the finale of Jersey Shore via MTV.com.
Seriously, my life is so eventful.
I am however, despite the anticipation and excitement over what this move could give us, very sad to leave my team at work, Girls on the Run and Junior League. I worked very hard for the past ten months to get myself settled after a rocky first few months here in CT, I adjusted rather well. I am however, excited to be relatively close to the DC blogger scene that I miss so, so much – seriously. CT ain’t got nothin’ on the DC blogger scene and I’m sure I’ll do just fine with the Girls on the Run down there, and the Annapolis Junior League (or Anne Arundel County Junior League…whatever.)until then…business as usual.
More posts soon on the wedding we went to in DC, some fun nights out here in CT among many other things!
